It is not an overstatement to affirm that our urban landscapes, towns, and thoroughfares are fundamentally composed of sand. This invaluable resource permeates our infrastructure, from concrete used in constructing buildings, roads, and bridges, to its presence in glass, textiles, electronics, transportation, and virtually every facet of modern life. Consequently, the depletion of sand reserves presents a growing concern.
